Privacy policy

Last updated 7 November 2026

The short version
  • Everything you enter, and your scan photos, is stored only on your iPhone.
  • When you scan, your photo is sent securely for analysis and deleted straight after. It isn't stored on any server and isn't used to train AI.
  • When you use the chat, your messages and a short summary of your routine and scores are sent to an AI provider to write the answer. They aren't used to train AI.
  • There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. We don't sell or share your data.
  • Delete the app and all your data is gone.

Who we are

Clear AI is published by Norbert Bozsir, Cyprus, who is responsible for your data (the "controller"). The app is built by David Bozsir. In this policy, "we" means both of us.

What stays on your iPhone

The following is stored only on your device. We have no way to see it:

If you use iCloud Backup, this data is included in your device backup, which Apple handles under its own privacy policy.

What leaves your iPhone

Scan photos

When you take a scan, the app crops the photo to your face and sends it over an encrypted connection to our scan server, which runs on Cloudflare. The server passes it to our skin analysis provider, AILabTools, which returns the scores and the positions of the spots it finds. The scores and spot positions are sent back to your phone.

To fix problems and improve accuracy, our server keeps short technical logs for a few days: the scores, image size and basic request data that Cloudflare records, such as time and IP address. These logs never contain your photo.

Chat messages

When you send a message in the chat, the app sends it to our server together with your recent messages in that chat and a short summary from the app: your age range, skin type, answers from onboarding, current routine, latest check-in and scan scores. It never includes your photos, name or contact details. Our server passes this to Anthropic, the company that makes the AI model, to write the reply.

Please don't share personal details such as your full name, address or school in the chat.

Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We never see your payment details. Apple only tells the app whether you have an active subscription.

Reminders

Routine reminders are scheduled on your iPhone. They don't go through any server.

What we don't do

Your skin data is sensitive

Photos of your skin, your skin scores and what you tell the chat about your skin can count as health information. We only use them to give you the scan or answer you asked for. The legal basis for this is your explicit consent, which you give when you choose to take a scan or send a message. You can stop at any time by not scanning or chatting, or by deleting the app.

Other legal bases: providing the subscription you bought (contract), and keeping short server logs to run the service securely (legitimate interest).

Where your data is processed

Cloudflare, AILabTools and Anthropic may process data on servers outside the European Union, including in the United States. We only send what's needed for the scan or the answer.

How long we keep data

Your rights

Under data protection law (including the GDPR), you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, object to its use, or withdraw consent. Because your data lives on your phone, deleting the app removes it. For anything else, email david@bozsir.com.

If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the data protection authority in your country. In Cyprus, that's the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection.

Age

Clear AI is for people aged 13 and over. If you're under the age of digital consent where you live (14 in Cyprus, and between 13 and 16 elsewhere in the EU), you need a parent or guardian's permission to use the app.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If a change affects how your scan photos are handled, we'll also tell you in the app.
